Matt Collins, M.D., M.B.A.
A family doctor working to change the system
Before joining Blue Cross in 2015 as vice president of clinical integration, Matt served as senior director of medical affairs at Fallon Community Health Plan in Massachusetts and was the medical director of Neighborhood Health Plan in Massachusetts. Matt brings to his role a unique background as both a family physician and medical director, with deep understanding of how to manage the quality, experience and performance of behavioral health networks for health plans. He is also passionate about designing and implementing care models across diverse populations. As chief medical officer, Matt has comprehensive oversight for medical management, including care management, utilization management, and behavioral health management, all with the goal of ensuring that our members get the right care at the right time in the right setting. Matt also leads our efforts to control the increase of total medical expenses.

Matt serves as a primary care physician and teacher at the Center, which is a part of the Brown Family Medicine Residency program.
U.S. Rowing Team
Matt is team doctor for the U.S. Rowing team, a role he has played since 2006.

Matt serves as a clinical assistant professor at the Medical School.
