After spending the last 15 years as a Medicare Broker Manager with Aetna, Cheryl Tassmer has made the move to Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island. She brings a wealth of experience to her new role as Senior Medicare Broker Relationship Manager and has already hit the ground running thanks to her pre-existing relationships with so many of our wonderful BCBSRI brokers!

Fun facts about Cheryl

• She grew up in North Providence, RI and moved to Connecticut (where she currently resides) after college. 
• She has two adult children as well as two grandchildren (ages 2 and 3). She loves spending time with her family and especially enjoys watching her grandchildren learn and grow.
• During her time at Aetna, she was always in the Medicare segment. She started out as a field rep in Connecticut before being promoted to a broker manager (for the Connecticut market). She then took on the challenge of the Massachusetts expansion territory and, a year later, picked up Rhode Island when Aetna expanded here in 2016.
• Prior to working for Aetna, she spent 12 years as an independent agent, selling healthcare, life, and disability insurance. She loves her career and is passionate about helping people navigate what can be a confusing path to their healthcare.
• She also enjoys being outdoors year-round and likes to stay active gardening, biking, boating, skiing, and spending time at the beach.
