Meet Amanda Prisco, Manager, Under 100 Employer Segment Sales

BCBSRI is pleased to welcome Amanda Prisco to its staff. Amanda comes to Blue Cross with an impressive resume, lots of new ideas, and a can-do attitude. If you haven’t met her yet, we’re certain you’ll be hearing from her. Here’s a little more detail on her background.  

What experience do you have that will enable you to excel in your current position at BCBSRI?

Amanda PriscoI believe my experience as a broker brings a unique perspective to the Blue Cross landscape. In my new role here, I am tasked with managing the under-100 group book of business. I started in the benefits industry 12 years ago as a broker managing small group health insurance renewals, leading new business sales in this segment and eventually managing larger, more complex clients. The team I have here now is comprised of experienced achievers that does whatever is necessary to renew their respective books of business.

What should those who haven’t met you yet know about you?


Though I grew up in Saratoga Springs, New York, I consider myself a proud Rhode Islander. I spent fond summers here growing up and, after graduating from URI, I stayed here, began my career, and have lived locally ever since.

What are your strengths?


Not to brag, but if I must! Those who work with me know that I genuinely enjoy tackling complex issues and working closely with others to create better outcomes for our members, our brokers, and our associates.

What do you enjoy about working in this environment?


We are having fun working together and getting the job done! Our motto, “It takes a team," is in practice every day. We are certainly appreciated for our individual contributions, but our greatest successes come as a result of concerted and sincere teamwork.

What are your plans for your current position? What can we look forward to from you?


I’m looking forward to being more visible in the marketplace with our retention and sales teams. Though in-person communication is always the most ideal, I’d like to be spreading the BCBSRI message by creating a strong social media presence as well. You can certainly look forward to thought leadership regarding the needs of the small employer segment, but also a “hands-on" approach to exceeding our member and broker needs.
