2025 RI Life Index survey kicks off

PROVIDENCE, RI (10 de abril, 2025) – Rhode Islanders are once again being asked at random to participate in the annual RI Life Index survey. Now entering its 7th year, the Index examines Rhode Islanders' perceptions about their ability to be healthy and well.

Surveys began in March and are being conducted anonymously by telephone, text message and online. Topics include affordable housing, food security, cost of living, job opportunities, childcare and education, among others.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) created the Index in 2019 in partnership with the Brown University School of Public Health. Since then, the Index has been updated every year, providing both a current portrait of Rhode Island’s strengths and challenges as well as emerging and evolving trend lines relating to wellness and quality of life. The survey will continue through the spring with results expected to be made public in fall 2025.

The survey is guided by the RI Life Index Coalition, a group of 14 community and statewide organizations. Member organizations include AARP; BCBSRI; Brown University Health Community Health Institute, Brown University School of Public Health; Community Provider Network of Rhode Island; the Economic Progress Institute; HousingWorks RI; Latino Policy Institute; Legal Key; Rhode Island Community Food Bank; the Rhode Island Department of Health; the Rhode Island Foundation; Rhode Island Kids Count; and United Way of Rhode Island.
