25th Annual Worksite Health Awards announces keynote speaker, ticket availability

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island, Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce recognize local businesses’ efforts to promote employee wellness

PROVIDENCE, RI – In partnership with the Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce, Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Rhode Island (BCBSRI) will host the 25th Annual Worksite Health Awards, honoring Rhode Island companies with successful workplace wellness programs, on Tuesday, 25 de junho.


The event will feature keynote speaker Dr. Rajiv Kumar, Virgin Pulse® president and chief medical officer. Kumar joined Virgin Pulse in 2016, following the company’s acquisition of ShapeUp, an employee wellbeing company that he founded in 2006. As CEO of ShapeUp, Kumar led the growth of the company from a two-person, dorm-room startup to a global company with more than 100 employees, 800 customers and two million participants around the world. At Virgin Pulse, Kumar oversees the Virgin Pulse Science Advisory Board and the organization’s analytics team.

WHY: The Worksite Health Awards are an opportunity for employers to come together to celebrate and learn best practices while showcasing the advances being made every day to improve the health and wellbeing of Rhode Islanders at work.

In 2018, nearly 80 local employers received Worksite Health Awards. More than 400 business leaders from around the state attended the 24th Annual Worksite Health Awards ceremony to celebrate the honorees’ efforts, which benefit thousands of Rhode Island employees.
