BCBSRI is excited to share that as of November, two additional behavioral health practices began offering “access appointments" to BCBSRI members:
- Providence Behavioral Health Associates: Provides access appointments for children, adolescents, and adults who are in urgent need of child psychiatry, adult psychiatry, or therapy. These appointments are available for commercial and Medicare members.
- Rhode Island Center for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (RICBT): Increasing access for children and adolescents by offering access appointments with providers such as psychologists, psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, physician assistants, social workers, or mental health counselors, as part of their Rapid Response Program for Children and Adolescents.
Since 2019, BCBSRI has collaborated with James Andriotis, M.D. of Child and Family Psychiatry, Inc. (d.b.a. LifeStance Health) to provide increased access to psychiatry services for children and adolescents. The practice provides urgent appointments for BCBSRI pediatric members in need of an evaluation with a child and adolescent psychiatrist.
If a BCBSRI patient needs an access appointment, please call any of the three practices that can serve the member and indicate you are looking for a BCBSRI urgent appointment. You may also fax a referral to the practice.
The practice will follow up with the patient to schedule the appointment and coordinate care with you. The provider will continue to provide treatment services for the patient as clinically indicated.
