The Mi Gente Program, sponsored by Lifespan, utilizes a new clinical model to engage Latinx youth and families. The program focuses on Socio-Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (SCBT) that is adapted for Latine youth and families who experienced suicidal thoughts or attempts. The research focuses on determine the effectiveness of SCBT on Latine youth compared to standard treatment regimen. Additionally, in this research, they aim to test the impact of a community health worker as additional support for the youth. Listed below are the requirements and for the program:
- Latine/Hispanic youth ages 12-18 who have experienced an emotional crisis that included suicidal thoughts
- Initial evaluation
- Evaluations at three, six, and nine months to track progress including questionnaires and short interviews
- Financial compensation for the families
