The Place of Service (POS) 10 Telemedicine Payment Policy outlines BCBSRI’s implementation of a new POS code (10) for telemedicine which was effective 1 de abril, 2022 (both audio/visual and telephone only), as well as a change in description for the existing POS code 02 for telemedicine. The description of POS code 02 has been revised and a new POS code 10 has been created to meet the overall industry needs. BCBSRI began accepting POS 10 for claims adjudication on 1 de abril, 2022 and requires the accurate submission of POS 10 and 02 codes when telemedicine (both audio/visual and telephone only) is being rendered to BCBSRI members for claims submitted on or after 1 de abril, 2022.
