Founded in 1989, National Recovery Month brings awareness to mental and substance use disorders and how treatment can enable individuals who struggle with them to live healthy and rewarding lives. The theme this year is “Every Person. Every Family. Every Community." Tens of thousands of treatment and recovery programs around the country celebrate National Recovery Month annually, sharing success stories about individuals in recovery and demonstrating that recovery is possible. Doing so helps to increase awareness and foster a greater understanding of mental and substance use disorders.
