In partnership with the Substance Use & Mental Health Leadership Council of Rhode Island (SUMHLC), BCBSRI is offering our in-network providers a free continuing education seminar this month titled “Diversity, Equity & Inclusion in the Healthcare Setting."
Attendees will gain insight and understanding into how diversity, equity, and inclusion are relevant and necessary to the improvement of healthcare delivery and overall quality of life for the patients we serve, as well as to our growth and development as healthcare professionals. The course will explore the history of racism and bias within the American healthcare system and the ways in which racial health disparities continue to impact communities of color today. Attendees will also gain knowledge into practical ways to reduce bias and begin to develop trust with communities of color.
This virtual seminar will take place on Thursday, 25 de maio, 2023, from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. If you would like to attend, we ask that you RSVP to our behavioral health team via email at Behavioralhealth@bcbsri.org by 10 de maio, 2023, as there are only 50 seats available. Once you have signed up for the event, a confirmation email will be sent to you from SUMHLC with instructions on how to register and/or log into their learning management system.
This seminar will provide three CEU credits in Cultural Competency for the following professions: social workers, licensed mental health counselors, and chemical dependency professionals.
