BCBSRI will once again offer its PCP Quality Incentive Program in 2019, but with some meaningful changes. While the design of the 2019 program is being finalized, primary care providers (PCPs) will see an emphasis on incentivizing a higher level of performance in the program’s quality metrics.

The program redesign will promote a holistic approach that shifts from a measure-by-measure incentive toward composite scoring for a “whole-person" approach. The changes align with other industry quality incentive methodologies and the evolution toward electronic health record integration/transformation.

Look for more details about the 2019 PCP Quality Incentive Program in the January issue of Provider Update. PCPs can also expect to receive an email with the program booklet by the end of December.
